 Cryotherapy (Cryosurgery) for warts.

Warts are generally small and harmless growths on the hands and feet. They may look flat and smooth or have a dome-shaped or cauliflower-like appearance. Warts are caused by different forms of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). Warts can spread from person-to-person and from one part of the body to another. They may disappear without any treatment in some cases and for some people may take up to 2-3 years for complete natural resolution.

If self-treatments are not working for you and/or your warts are spreading please contact us for a consultation. We'll assess your warts and recommend the best option.

Cryotherapy (Cryosurgery) for warts. Cryotherapy is one of the preferred methods to treat warts in a medical office. Liquid nitrogen is much more efficient than home kit treatments methods, due to its extremely low temperatures that can be as low as -320 F.

What To Expect from Cryotherapy

• The doctor applies liquid nitrogen to the warts.

• First, the tissue is frozen with liquid nitrogen. Then, the tissue is allowed to thaw. This step may happen multiple times if needed. The time of application varies by the type and size of the warts.

• The size and thickness of the warts determine the number and length of freeze/thaw cycles. Up to three treatments may be needed in each session. Size and thickness of the warts determine how many sessions will be necessary

• You may have a mild to moderate burning sensation during the treatment.
