"As a Naturopathic Doctor some of my areas of focus are: Holistic Skin Care, Functional Nutrition, Digestive Health, Women's Health and Anxiety disorders."
What to expect during a Naturopathic appointment?
During the doctor’s virtual or in-person visit Dr. Jaqueline Brockert will collect information about your overall health history, including a list of medications and/or supplements, acute or chronic symptoms, allergies, past surgeries or hospitalizations, nutritional status, and stress levels. After a careful review from the patient’s health information, including laboratory and imaging exams when needed, Dr. Brockert will design a personalized plan to treat the underlying causes of your problems.
Dr. Brockert will start your treatment using the least invasive yet most effective methods available. When possible, Dr. Brockert starts the treatment with lifestyle and nutritional recommendations instead of pharmaceuticals. However, every individual is different and for some patients the use of pharmaceuticals will be necessary. Either way, Dr. Brockert will implement an integrative treatment plan where the use of less invasive methods of care can be used for the long-term goal.
At Peach skin Portland Healthcare all patients will receive special focus on their nutritional state of health and digestive system. What you eat and what you are absorbing from food could potentially create or resolve overall inflammation and exacerbate mental health conditions. During the appointment Dr. Brockert may suggest diet and lifestyle changes. If necessary, she will recommend laboratory exams to investigate your symptoms, such as but not limited to, food allergy and food sensitivity exams. Additionally, Dr. Brockert will always try to remove potential sources of body inflammation, as they are major sources of pathological conditions.
Sometimes after careful review of symptoms and laboratory studies, nutritional supplementation may be recommended if necessary; however, Dr. Brockert's preference is to focus on nutrition and lifestyle factors first. It is Dr. Jaqueline Brockert's belief that your overall health including your mental health symptoms may be an expression of the inflammation and contamination inside of your body. If your body is accumulating toxins (pesticides, preservatives, flavoring agents, natural extracts, petrochemical products, heavy metals, sugar…) and due to poor digestion, or hormonal imbalance, is not able to get rid of all these environmental insults, your symptoms may be expressing the accumulation of these problems or deficiencies with flares.
The right treatment will help the whole body and mind heal itself. For some chronic conditions it may take a while, and we may not have the cure for all disorders; however, for most people, the right treatment may help to alleviate and to decrease the frequency of symptoms and flares, even in incurable chronic conditions.
"If you let me, it will be my honor to help you help yourself in this journey. I promise I will be guiding you every step of the way with the most integrative scientific approaches that we have as Naturopathic physicians. I will use all my tools, including nutrition, botanicals, lifestyle counseling, mental health counseling, and if needed, pharmaceuticals to active your best results." Dr. Brockert
